Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas.

Course Outline

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply highly specialised knowledge and skills in the field of organisational learning and capability development. Individuals in these roles generate and evaluate complex ideas. They also initiate, design and execute major learning and development functions within an organisation. Typically, they would have full responsibility and accountability for the personal output and work of others.

This qualification may apply to leaders and managers in an organisation where learning is used to build organisational capability. The job roles that relate to this qualification may also include RTO Manager and RTO Director.

Eligibility Criteria

Entry to this course is restricted to those who are:

  • Able to read and write English to at least year 12 standard or equivalent
  • Over the age of 18 years
  • Prepared to make a strong commitment to the course
  • Age Requirements:

All students must be aged 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission to the Academy (all students).

Enrolment Interview:

A student’s selection for enrolment into our courses is dependent on Oscar Academy enrolment staff approval. This approval is based on whether or not your previous qualifications and academic performance meet the selection criteria during the pre-training assessment interview. This occurs prior to the confirmation of enrolment at Oscar Academy.

A satisfactory outcome of interview with authorised RTO Staff or representatives will allow for admission into the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) Course.

English Language/Literacy/Numeracy requirements:

Prior to enrolment, a student must provide satisfactory evidence of their level of literacy and numeracy skills in order to be considered for course enrolment.

Students are required to successfully complete a test their LLN skills by completing an appropriate level LLN test.

If learners do not meet the English and LLN requirements, learners will be asked to take further Language, literacy and numeracy training e.g.  Foundation skill programs.

Learners who do not possess basic computing skills will be referred to take basic computer skills course before the commencement of the course.

Computer Skills:

Applicants should have basic computer and MS Office skills (MS Word, Excel and Power point) and have access to personal computer.


Educational Pathways

After achieving the BSB80120 Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning), graduates are able to apply for entry in a wode variety of higher education courses in the fields of adult education and business management.

The total duration for this course is 1200 hours (52 weeks, including holidays) which includes:

800 hours of the study load as face to face learning and assessment activities and 400 hours of self-paced learning and assessment (Training 1120 hours + 80 Assessment hours),

The students are excepted to attend 20 hrs face to face learning per academic week.

*Oscar Academy will not accept payment of more than $ 1500 from any individual student prior to the commencement of their course or at any given time.

*Tuition fees and other compulsory costs (equipment, uniforms etc.) may change from year to year. However students continuing in their current qualification will not incur any fee increases

*Material Fees includes but not restricted to books, Tutorials and course documents.

Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through mentoring and access to re-assessment as outline in our policies and procedures.

  • Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and includes:
  • Written Questions and Answers
  • Projects/Case Studies
  • Practical Demonstrations/Observations

RPL /  Credit Transfer

  • Students with prior learning and work experience can apply for RPL. Students who have completed corresponding units of competency and/or units contained within the packaging rules can apply for Credit Transfer. RPL evidence must include some of the following:
  • Work experience
  • Life experience
  • Previous study
  • Professional development programs
  • If you wish to apply for RPL or Credit Transfer, please notify Oscar Academy staff at the time of enrolment.
